SmartSens Introduces New QVGA Image Sensor with Built-In ISP for Cellphone Cameras

Shanghai, China, February 17, 2023 SmartSens Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (SSE STAR MARKET: 688213), a technologically-advanced CMOS image sensor supplier, recently announced SC080CS, the latest CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) solution of SmartSens Cellphone Sensor (CS) Series. The pixel size in the SC080CS image sensor is 2.24μm*2.24μm. As a QVGA (240×320) image sensor, SC080CS is equipped with a built-in ISP, delivering high-quality image output to cellphone cameras.

SC080CS has both monochrome and RGGB versions, which can be offered in a 9-Pin CSP package. Leveraging SmartSens’ proprietary SFCPixel^® technology, SC080CS achieves a sensitivity of up to 3649 mV/lux· s, which enables its excellent imaging performance in low-light environments. The built-in ISP of SC080CS contains algorithms including Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) / Automatic Gain Control (AGC), Auto White Balance (AWB), Defect Pixel Correction (DPC), tone mapping, Black Level Correction (BLC), noise reduction, etc., which significantly improve the image quality. The SC080CS image sensor provides image output in YUV 422 or RAW data format via Serial Data (SDA). In addition, SC080CS supports dual DOVDD (1.8V and 2.8V), which makes it compatible with many consumer applications.
