Dr. Chen Xu, Founder, Chairman & CEO of SmartSens, Receives 2025 TEEC Entrepreneurship Achievement Award

The 2026 Global Annual Conference of the Tsinghua Entrepreneur and Executive Club (TEEC) was grandly held in Shanghai from 15 to 17 October. During the concurrent award ceremony, the recipients of TEEC 2025 Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, Entrepreneurship Achievement Award and Mentorship Award were officially announced. Dr. Xu obtained his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, where he built his foundational expertise in electronic engineering. He later pursued advanced research in imaging technology at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Motivated by the goal of industrial independence, Dr. Xu returned to China and founded SmartSens in 2011, focusing on R&D and industrialization of high‑performance CMOS image sensors. He is the first Chinese enterprise leader in the CIS industry whose paper was accepted at the International Solid‑State Circuits Conference (ISSCC).
