Based on SmartClarity^®-XL Pro technology, the SC5A6XS is fabricated with a 22nm Stacked BSI process and equipped with advanced technologies, including the latest Lofic HDR^® 3.0, SFCPixel^®, and AllPix ADAF^®. Leveraging SmartSens' new Lofic HDR^® 3.0 technology, the SC5A6XS achieves an ultra-high dynamic range of up to 115dB*, representing an improvement of approximately 5dB over the Lofic HDR^® 2.0. This enables smartphone cameras to preserve more highlight and shadow details in high-contrast scenes, preventing overexposure in bright areas while reducing the loss of detail in shadows.

The Lofic HDR^® 3.0 technology is achieved through the combination of three frames undera single exposure, which not only delivers ultra-high dynamic range but also effectively suppresses motion artifacts, ensuring vivid, clear, and high dynamic range video recording. Moreover, the SC5A6XS supports 4K 120fps and 4K 60fps video recording, bringing smoother video quality and meeting the needs of professional video creation.

Lofic HDR^® 3.0 Technology

SmartSens’ new Lofic HDR® 3.0 technology delivers comprehensive pixel performance optimization for LOFIC frames. Compared with the previous generation, Lofic HDR^® 3.0 offers better night‑time imaging performance, supports high‑gain effects on LOFIC frames, and significantly enhances the ultra‑high dynamic range capture capability of smartphone cameras in low‑light conditions under Lofic HDR^® mode. It also effectively optimizes the transition between bright and dark areas in multi‑frame fusion, delivering more natural image quality. With Lofic HDR® 3.0 technology, the SC5A6XS empowers smartphone cameras with all‑scene ultra‑high dynamic range capture that performs exceptionally well in both daylight and nighttime conditions.

Comprehensive Performance Optimization

As a 1‑inch CMOS image sensor for flagship smartphone cameras, the SC5A6XS features a large 1.6μm pixel size and integrates SFCPixel^® technology, delivering excellent sensitivity and low noise. It achieves a sensitivity of up to 1836mV/lux*s and a read noise of approximately 0.95e‑, enabling smartphone cameras to capture clearer images in low‑light conditions. Moreover, the SC5A6XS is equipped with AllPix ADAF^® and Sparse PDAF technologies, supporting two fast autofocus modes. In low-light scenarios, SC5A6XS can use the AllPix ADAF^® mode to achieve high-speed and precise focusing effects through all-pixel all-directional autofocus. In ordinary lighting scenarios, SC5A6XS can switch to the Sparse PDAF mode, achieving precise focusing and significantly reducing power consumption through sparse pixel phase detection.

In addition, SC5A6XS features excellent ultra-low power consumption performance. Compared with its predecessor on the same platform, the power consumption of SC5A6XS is reduced by approximately 11%, which helps extend the duration of continuous video recording for smartphones.
