SmartSens Technology Launches Two New SmartClarity® Series CMOS Image Sensors - SC5235, SC5238

2018-5-25

SmartSens Technology Co. , Ltd announces the launch of two SmartClarity® series 5MP CMOS Image Sensors, which use the high-resolution back-illuminated(BSI) pixels, the SC5235 and SC5238.

SHANGHAI, In February 2018, SmartSens Technology Co. , Ltd, a leading global provider of digital image solutions is launching the SC5235 Image Sensor embedded with BSI technology. It has an 1/2.7" optical format, capable of running 5MP(2608H x 1960V) at 25 frames per second using 2μm BSI pixels.

The SC5235 supports the interline HDR image synthetic algorithm that expands dynamic range up to 100dB. This enables the image sensor to capture clear digital images under both bright light and low light conditions, and this allows the images to be more vivid and clear in dark zone as well.

With the best-in-class technology in the CMOS Image Sensor, SC5235 can meet the requirements of various kinds of applications. It can be used in security surveillance systems, ip cameras, car digital video recorders, sport cameras and video telephone conference systems. It can also be widely used under the industrial environmental systems with relatively challenging lighting conditions.

The SC5235 comes with many advantages, including high sensitivity, a high signal-to-noise ratio and low power consumption, which provide guaranteed performance for imaging quality. The SC5235 can adapt to the temperature range from minus 30 degrees Celsius ~ 85 degrees Celsius to ensure long-term stability under various application environments.

SmartSens Technology is also launching the NIR enhanced edition-SC5238. It extends the performance advantage of SC5235 based on the optimization of integrated circuit technology resulting from a breakthrough in NIR technology; as a result, the quantum efficiency in the range of 850nm-940nm has been improved, which has effectively improved the camera's sensitivity under low-light conditions. Even under a condition with relatively low light and in the evening, an image can be captured clearly.

The new product with the NIR features can reduce demand on LED auxiliary light, and as a result, the effective total system power consumption can be lowered.

Moreover, SC5238 can run at a speed of 30 frames per second, keeping the image smooth and stable. It also supports the image format at 4MP 50 frames per second for 16:9 video and makes the effects of a high dynamic range more obvious.
