SmartSens Announces 50MP 1.0 Micron-Pixel Ultra-High Dynamic Range for Smartphone Cameras

Shanghai, China, April 16, 2026, SmartSens Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, a technologically advanced CMOS image sensor supplier, recently unveiled the SC575XS — a 50-megapixel (MP) ultra-high dynamic range CMOS image sensor with a 1.0μm pixel size for smartphone cameras. Built on the SmartClarity®-XL Pro technology and fabricated with an advanced 22nm stack process, the SC575XS integrates multiple advanced technologies, including the newly upgraded Lofic HDR® 3.0, SFCPixel®-2 and AllPix ADAF®. It delivers outstanding advantages such as ultra-high dynamic range, low noise, all-pixel all-directional autofocus, and low power consumption. As a 1/1.56-inch optical-format image sensor, the SC575XS leverages the new Lofic HDR® 3.0 technology to achieve excellent full-scene ultra-high dynamic range imaging in both daylight and nighttime conditions, significantly enhancing the video capture quality of primary cameras for mid-to-high-end smartphones.

Main Features
HDR & HFR Video
As a 1/1.56‑inch optical‑format image sensor with 1.0μm pixels, the SC575XS leverages the Lofic HDR® 3.0 technology to achieve a maximum dynamic range of up to 110dB*, representing an improvement of approximately 25dB over previous‑generation dual-frame HDR products and outperforming competing products with similar specifications in the industry. This enables smartphone cameras to capture vivid HDR imaging with well‑balanced highlights and shadows even in high‑contrast scenes. The Lofic HDR® 3.0technology is implemented through three‑frame fusion within a single exposure, effectively suppressing motion artifacts, ensuring clear and smear-free video in dynamic scenarios.

The SC575XS supports ultra-high-frame-rate 4K 120 fps video with 100% PDAF coverage, and 4K 60fps in HDR mode, the SC575XS delivers ultra‑high frame rate that significantly enhances video quality of smartphone cameras and offers greater flexibility for the development of diverse imaging functions and professional content creation.
Lofic HDR® 3.0 Technology
SmartSens’s new Lofic HDR® 3.0 technology enables comprehensive pixel performance optimization for LOFIC frames. Compared with the previous generation, Lofic HDR® 3.0 offers better night‑time imaging performance, supports high gain on LOFIC frames, and significantly enhances ultra‑high dynamic range video capture quality for smartphone cameras in nighttime conditions under Lofic HDR® mode. It also effectively optimizes the transition between bright and dark areas in multi‑frame fusion, delivering more natural image quality. With Lofic HDR® 3.0technology, the SC575XS achieves superior ultra‑high dynamic range imaging in low‑light conditions from dusk to night, consistently helping smartphone cameras capture clear, high‑definition HDR videos with distinct light and shadow details across all lighting scenarios.

Low Noise
As a 50‑megapixel image sensor with 1.0μm pixels, the SC575XS innovatively integrates SmartSens' patented SFCPixel®‑2 technology, delivering higher sensitivity and excellent noise suppression with read noise as low as 0.85e⁻. This effectively improves imaging quality in low‑light conditions such as overcast skies, dusk, and night, enabling smartphone cameras to capture high‑definition images with crisp details and fine textures.
Fast Autofocus
The SC575XS is equipped with AllPix ADAF® and Sparse PDAF® technologies, supporting two fast autofocus modes. In low-light scenarios, the SC575XS can use the AllPix ADAF® mode to achieve high-speed, stable autofocus through 100% all-pixel autofocus, helping smartphone cameras overcome dark-light autofocus challenges. In ordinary lighting scenarios, the SC575XS can switch to the Sparse PDAF mode, achieving precise focusing while saving power consumption through 6% sparse pixel phase detection.

Low Power Consumption
Based on the advanced SmartClarity®-XL Pro technology platform, the SC575XS adopts a new ultra-low power consumption solution, achieving significant power optimization. . In 4K Lofic HDR® 3.0 video mode, the SC575XS consumes only approximately 430mW, effectively reducing smartphone heat during HDR video capture, extending maximum recording duration, and improving the scene utilization of Lofic HDR® 3.0 mode. This provides greater flexibility for smartphone imaging strategy configuration while ensuring longer battery life.
